Trinity Step Group
Monday's 7:30 pm
Trinity Episcopal Church
Forest Avenue & Coyle
Portland
Closed/Step/Discussion/Handicapped Accessible
| The meeting was founded by Jack A. and Irving M. at 8:00 pm on March
31, 1971 and first met at Jack A.'s home (He was a member of the Cape
Group). It then moved to the Ogden Room of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Besides Jack and Irving, early members included Captain Jack, Dick S., and
Nino G. In early 1974, it was registered with World Services as a Group by
Bill G. and Clyde B. On its 25th Anniversary, Bill G. presented a
commemorative plaque to the church, which hangs in their vestry, thanking
them for their service to the Group. They also presented a history of
Reverend Sam Shoemaker, an Episcopalian Clergyman, who played a great part
in AA's early days in advising Bill W. in spiritual matters. He remained
AA's friend until his death. |
